Summary: "Rhabdastrella globostellata" - the Yellow Pot or Barrel Sponge. Found distributed throughout the Indian and Pacific oceans in water depths ranging from intertidal to 53m deep. Photographs depict specimen in holding tank and laboratory at Heron Island Research Station and in the lagoon area of Heron Island, GBR. Excerpt depicting examples of spiculation within the species (from 'Resolving the "Jaspis stellifera" complex', Memoirs of the Queensland Museum, Kennedy (2000)).
