Biogeographic distribution

Holothuria hilla is widely distributed in tropical Indo-West Pacific Ocean in waters with temperature ranging of 23 – 28°C (Lee et al 2008). This area stretches from from Hawaii to New Caledonia, Japan and Red Sea (Dabbagh & Kamrani 2011). This animal is generally found in depths between 0 – 20m, but occasionally, it can be spotted in depths of over 200m (Afkhami et al 2012). They can be seen commonly on intertidal reef flats on Heron Island.
