A full size adult specimen of Alpheus strenuus strenuus can fit in the palm of your hand.



A. strenuus strenuus typically grow to a maximum total body length of 60mm with a maximum carapace length of 38mm (Banner & Banner, 1982; Chace, 1988). The other subspecies A. s. cremnus are usually slightly larger (Banner & Banner 1982).
