Biogeographical Distribution
This species is wide spread in the Indo-Pacific, from Andaman Islands to Eastern Polynesia. Found on offshore reefs and islands in northwestern Australia (Marsh & Marshall). Found in coral reef habitats in the eastern Indian Ocean and in the western and central Pacific Ocean (Yamaguchi 1975).
