Each September, students in BIOL3211 Marine Invertebrates spend a week at Heron Island Research Station, which is situated on the cay within Heron Island Reef on the southern Great Barrier Reef. Each student spends most of their time observing and experimenting upon a specific marine invertebrate species. From these observations and data they develop a species web page, which is displayed on this site. All students also undertake are a range of class exercises that are designed to display the marine invertebrate diversity in different coral reef habitats.
