Biogeographic distribution
The Zoological Catalogue of Australia describes an extensive distribution of Comanthus gisleni. Including the entire north-east, north-west and northern coastline of Australia. Individuals have been found in the east Indo-Pacific and Australia in depths of 0-32m (CSIRO, 1995).
