Conservation & Threats
Currently, threats related to Holothuria hilla has yet to be assessed by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN). Thus, it is not a protected species and no efforts had been made to conserve this species globally. However, the rising sea temperatures may result in population loss of H. hilla as this species can only survive in waters with temperatures ranging from 23°C to 28°C. In addition, increasing anthropogenic impacts around coastal areas may result in elevated levels of chemical pollution in the marine environment. These two factors may have detrimental effects on the population of H. hilla.
