The nauplius generally has a pear-shaped body that is covered by a carapace. A
median eye (not shown here) can be found at the anterior end associating with
the frontal filaments and a pair of frontolateral horns are situated at the
anterior sides of the dorsal shield (Anderson 1994). A pair of uniramous
antennules is located at the anterior end of the body, followed by the antennae
and the mandibles. All the limbs are covered by setae. (Adapted from Rainbow
