No information is available about the conservation status of C. guamensis, as it is a rather understudied species. And there are no direct threats to hermit crab populations, however their coral reef habitat is under continuing threat due to ocean acidification and climate change (Hoegh-Guldberg 1999). The Calcinus taxon has not yet been assessed for the IUCN red list.
