Ecology
Diphyes bojani can be found in open ocean, coastal areas, near reefs and continental shelves. They are most commonly found across the reef shelf, due to greater food supply and warmer waters (Sabates et al. 2010).
Siphonophores often share feeding areas with fish larvae, and will eat fish larvae, however they generally prefer other food, such as invertebrate larvae and copepods (Sanvicente-Añorve et al. 2007).
Diphyes bojani were found off the reef crest at Heron Island, in plankton nets at the surface of the water. They were more common at the surface on calmer days, and could not be found when there were high winds and turbulent waters.
