Conservation & Threats

The status of E. diaphanis is unknown and there are no conservation efforts at present.

Currently there are no known threats specific to E. diaphanis or other ascidians.
It would appear that ascidians are expanding their distributions and threatening ecosystems. Invasions by ascidians have been documented in areas of North America (Lambert and Lambert, 2003; Locke et al., 2007; Blum et al., 2007).
