General Ecology:
Eurythoe laevisetis is commonly found in tropical waters along hard substrates in shallow, subtidal rocky areas where plenty of boulders and corals are present. Distribution is irregular, as the polychaete will only occur in areas that match its habitat requirements (Arias et al. 2013).   

Along the Heron Island reef in Queensland, Australia habitat requirements were met for Eurythoe laevisetis along the outer reef zone. This is confirmed knowledge as Eurythoe laevisetis was found within boulders and living coral collected from the outer reef zone. Many different individuals were often found hiding in tubes and crevasses within the same piece of rock or coral. Eurythoe laevisetis has also been found in the Mediterranean sea and often occurs in sympatry with Eurythoe complanata (Barroso et al.2010).
