Common Names

The common name for Chaetognatha is arrow worm.
They have gained their common name as their caudal fin, or posterior lateral fins are said to resemble the feathers of an arrow, and their head the arrow-head. Additionally, some species also have a relatively long body, which resembles the shaft of an arrow.
