Some species of Nereis can reach 1.8m in length (Ruppert et al., 2004). Species of Australian nereidids generally reach lengths no greater than 10cm or 150 body segments, however, intertidal species such as the study organism from Redcliffe is able to reach nearly 20cm and 300 segments (Australian Biological Resources Study, 2000). The largest Perenereis recovered from Redcliffe was approximately 15cm in length. |
