Local Distribution and Habitats

Mid inter tidal sea anemone, usually found attached to rocks or other hard substrate near the shore. Can live in sub tidal areas of up to 5 m. Highly adaptable, can survive when completely submerged in water during high tide or when exposed to air during low tide. However, the animal will retract its tentacles and oral disc when out of water, resembling a little red blob
