Behaviour
E. sebana are mostly inactive during daylight hours, concealing themselves within cracks of rocks or similar hiding places. They are a nocturnal species, becoming active during the night to search for prey items, or find a more suitable microhabitat. E. sebana has been known to primarily feed on molluscs, although its diet is also very generalized (Vermeij 1977). It is unknown whether E. sebana returns to the same area daily, or is more nomadic in behaviour. E. sebana can become aggressive in defending itself, either to a threatening organism in the wild or if handled. |
