Like in all polychaeataes F. implexa possesses segmented filtration nepheridia specifically as a pair of mixonephridia structures located anteriorly to worm.  As far as studies have shown these structures are basically nephridia with additional ciliated ducts attached to the exterior in abdominal chaetigers which are responsible for expelling gametes for reproduction (Glasby 2000).
