Crypsis
E. sebana are generally coloured light grey or dark brown on the dorsal side of the carapace, with a lighter underside. This colouration can be considered cryptic, as E. sebana typically inhabit coral rubble blocks or rocky substrates on reef shore lines that are of similar colour. The carapace colouration serves to camouflage the crab in daylight hours, when it may be hiding within cracks of boulders or coral rubble. E. sebana exhibits cryptic behaviour, as it conceals itself within cracks and accommodating boulders or coral rubble. |
