EXTERNAL MORPHOLOGY

H. edulis is a very soft skinned echinoderm that is ventrally pink and is black to grey on its dorsal surface. Small nodular tube feet are externally present but can retract back into the cavity. The mouth and anus are at separate ends of the body and can be differentiated via the presence of the introvert at the oral end.
