Nardoa novaecaledoniae is found globally in tropical reef systems. The species was first identified in New Caledonia, but was soon identified in other reefs around the world. Prominent populations can be found in the West Pacific around Noumea, the Great Barrier Reef in Australia, Indonesia, Philippines and Papua New Guinea (Fenner 2011).
