Biogeographical Distribution

The complete distribution of the elephant slug is limited to the certain sections of coastline in Australia, however fairly abundant within this range. Along the Australian coast, the elephant slug can be found in the southern half of the continent from the Great Barrier Reef in North Queensland to Geraldton in Western Australia, including Tasmania. This distribution suggests the elephant slug prefers warm to cool temperature waters.
