Feeding
S. luhuanus is an herbivorous gastropod that grazes on filamentous macroalgae that grows on rocks and other conspecifics (figure 1), and microalgae found on sand grains (Savazzi, 1991). They are equipped with a highly extensible proboscis, which contains a rasping radula (figure 2) (Berg, 1974). When they feed on strands of filamentous algae, they can either eat the strands from the end or fold the strands before eating them (Berg, 1974).
