Crypsis
The colour of the scaleworm is almost the same as the colour of the host (Britayev & Zamishliak, 1996). This makes it is very difficult to detect the worm from the host. Also, g. clavigera also developed some drumstick structures which are believed to be mimicking the tube feet of the host (sea cucumber).
