Adult Herdmania momus from populations inhabiting the Great Barrier Reef are smooth, spherical, solitary ascidians typically about 7cm in length. They boast a beautiful translucent peachy-red colour and have two short siphons that diverge from one another at the anterior end. Barbed spicules are present in their test which can cause irritation of the skin upon handling.
